Set of 3 adorable AVON bottles in white opaline, from the 70s. The bodies of the 2 dogs, a poodle and a Scottish terrier, are in white opaline, the heads in hard plastic. The swan is also in white opaline with a small golden plastic cap, in the shape of a crown.
In 1886, David H. McConnell founded the California Perfume Company, which would become Avon, in New York City. As an unsuccessful book salesman, he concocted a rose perfume as a "free gift" to encourage people to buy his books. The perfume was so popular that McConnell decided to abandon the book business and start a perfume company. The company changed its name to Avon in 1939 in honor of Shakespeare's hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon.
Very good condition.
