Magnificent Hayasi Kutani tea service from Japan, renowned for its quality. It is made of fine porcelain, a high-quality porcelain known for its resistance, delicate appearance, and translucency.
All the pieces are decorated with a black and gold landscape depicting mountains, pagodas and foliage, typical of the Kutani style, renowned for its intricate and opulent designs.
At the bottom of each cup, the eyes of the Geisha follow you like those of the Mona Lisa! Cups with geisha lithophanes have been made since the 1800s. The cups are thin, and the image at the bottom is created using varying thicknesses of porcelain. Most of these porcelain cups are made in the Kutani region of Japan.
