Holmegaard "kluk kluk" model carafe before 1965 designed by Jacob E Bang
The 'Kluk Kluk' carafe is a well-known design from Holmegaard Kastrup, it became known as the Kluk Kluk or 'Cluck Cluck' carafe due to the distinctive sound produced when pouring. This carafe was designed with a 'pinched waist', making it easier to maintain a grip when using it. Its soft yet robust shape brings out the most fantastic glow from the glass itself.
It can be dated since the label was used until 1965. Although the label is slightly worn, the words "Kastrup Glas", "made in Denmark" and the insignia are very clear.
Jacob E. Bang's glass design has achieved great recognition and popularity. Today, many of his works have become style icons and collector's items. Bang was one of the few Danish designers of the time and won several medals at world exhibitions: Barcelona in 1929, Brussels in 1935, Paris in 1937, and New York in 1939. From 1957 to 1965, he was the artistic director of Kastrup Glassworks.
